Room Allocation:

At Dominion Home, we strive to accommodate the preferences of all parties involved, ensuring a comfortable living environment. Assessment and ongoing communication with you and your family are essential to meet your evolving care needs.

Mail:

Convenient mail services are available at our reception. Outgoing mail is sent daily, except on weekends, and we can assist with receiving and distributing your mail.

​

Residents Telephone:

A dedicated line is provided for residents, which can be reached at 09-620-5533, the same as our main line. Additionally, we offer both fixed and portable phones to meet individual needs, including the option for a private phone in your room.

​

Newspapers:

We provide copies of the local weekly Central Leader and The New Zealand Herald for communal use. If your family member desires their personal copy of The New Zealand Herald, please inform us, and we'll make the necessary arrangements.

Families and Visitors:

We highly value family consultation and involvement, and there are no set visiting hours. Visitors are welcome at any time, ensuring the well-being of the resident. Open communication and timely notifications are key when it comes to any changes or deterioration in the resident's health.

Meal Service:

Our skilled kitchen staff takes pride in preparing nutritious and appetizing meals tailored to various tastes. All meals are prepared on-site, reviewed regularly by our Consultant Dietician, and served at specified times, with morning/afternoon tea and supper also provided. We accommodate special dietary requirements as recommended by doctors or our Consultant Dietician.

RESIDENT CODE OF RIGHTS:

As a resident of Dominion Home, you have the right to be treated with respect, dignity, and individualized care. You can expect open communication, informed decision-making, and the right to voice any concerns or complaints. Our aim is to uphold these rights and ensure your satisfaction through ongoing audits and prompt resolution of any breaches. Should the need arise, we encourage seeking support from independent Advocates and the Health and Disability Commissioner's Office.
